It’s a nice island, where the locals start having the feeling having too much cruisers around. So please respect them. At the moment, they have a law admitting a cruiser boat for 7-10 days, they are trying to change it through 2 days per anchorage.

Cook Bay: deep bay inside the land on the north side, calm water. At the end, you have a dinghy dock. Spectacular scenery. Car rental, fuel dock on the east side of the bay. The juicer Rotui can be visited (north-west of the bay). Trekking to the Belvedère (view point) and the pinaple road can be started from there.
Opunohu Bay: deep bay inside the land on the north side, calm water. This is where Captain Cook anchored! Some scenery from the Bounty movie was taken here. Spectacular scenery. At the end of the bay it has the only black sand beach of the island. Trekking to the Belvedère (view point) and the pinaple road can be started from there.
